BEGINNING ENGLISH & JUMPING CAMP
GALLERY OF PICTURES!

The week of August 21-24th was a beautiful week for the Beginning English and Low Jumping camp held at the Ferry County Fairgrounds hosted by Wildwind Farm.  The camp was instructed by Melinda Thomas and was open to anyone of any age who was interested in learning a new venture by trying english, or to further their english skills they already had.  The group consisted of eight riders most days, and the ninth rider worked half the camp into her work schedule so she could get some of the education.  The group varied from age 10 on up to adults.

The group worked very well together and learned proper huntseat equitation and patterns that may be asked in the show ring.  They also learned hunter pleasure, basic dressage, trot poles, cavalleties and the favorite of most, the low jumping!  The class room lessons were how to lunge your horse on the ground to teach headset and proper balance needed under saddle.  They leaned about all different types of support and protection boots, including how to do a mud poultice wrap after a hard ride.  The last class room class was show braiding of the mane and forelock.  The whole group did exceptionally well on everything!

Everyone improved immensely as the week progressed and gained confidence in themselves and their horses.  There were alot of smiles and everyone had a good time.  This camp was a great success and Wildwind Farm will definately host it again next year!  Thank you to Ferry County for having such a nice facility available to the public.
