PONY CLUB ICEBREAKER SCHOOLING SHOW Interstate Fairgrounds, Spokane, WA April 25, 2009

The Icebreaker was a chilly weekend in April, but was well attended by Thomas Training. Showing her first horse show ever, and the horse, Joanna Call rode 6 year old American Warmblood mare, Wildwind's "Serendipity". They received two 2nds in their classes. Jesscia Ackerson rode her POA pony, "Smokey Peach Blossom', and took home ribbons in numerous hunter classes. Kacie and Marcella Lane rode their Quarter Horses, "Lucky and Dixie". Kacie placed consistently in the flat hunter classes, Marcella took home many blues in the Hunter Over Fences classes. Becky Smoak showed her first hunter show on Wildwind's "Sunlight Wrangler", and placed in many classes. Melinda Thomas schooled her horses "Splash, Silvana and Countessa" in numeous over fence classes. "Splash" won the 2'9" Open Jumpers. "Silvana" competed for her very first time! The Wildwind Equestrian Team learned a lot and had a great time!

PONY CLUB DEEP CREEK DERBY Medical Lake, Spokane, WA June 7, 2009

The Saturday of the Derby was a beautiful day and was attended by Melinda Thomas and her three horses, "Splash of Class", "Countessa", and "Silvana". Jasmine Minbashian, visiting from Bellingham, WA showed her paint gelding, 'Homer". All four horses did very well with "Silvana" winning her division in Rock Hoppers with clean jumping, "Countessa" placed 4th in Elementary with clean jumping, and "Splash of Class" received a 2nd after tying for 1st in the Novice Division with clean jumping. Jasmine and Homer brought home a 6th place finish in Elementary with clean jumping. A very successful day for the Team Thomas Training!

LADY RAVEN STABLES SCHOOLING SHOW Lady Raven Stables, Spokane, WA June 20, 2009

The Thomas Training team traveled to Spokane for the Lady Raven Schooling show, mainly to try out dressage. Showing dressage for the first time was Rebekah Eberly on her arabian gelding "Bey", Becky Smoak on Wildwind's "Sophie", and Marsha Wilson showing her paint gelding "Dan". They all really enjoyed it, and all want pursue it some more. Also showing was Jessica Ackerson on her TB gelding "Viento", and Melinda Thomas on her warmblood mare "Silvana". Jessica Eberly attended and watched from the back of her arabian mare "Legacy". Everyone took home lots of ribbons, and Marsha Wilson took home the adult hight point Montana Silversmith's belt buckle from her participation in halter, dressage, trail, huntseat and western. Way to go everyone!

FERRY COUNTY FAIR Ferry County Fairgrounds, Republic, WA September 1-6, 2009

The Ferry County Fair was a success to some, and learning experiences to others! The judge, Doug Evenson was a by the book judge, and did a real good, and fair job at judging. He had high expectations, and that is good for some of the students to see that. He will definately prepare them for next year, a little work, polish and elbow grease! Showing this year at the fair from Thomas Training was Seniors Marcella Lane, Angelique Sebree, Charlotte Mills, and Jessica Ackerson. Intermediates were Kacie Lane, Brittney Mumford, Rebekah Eberly, Rebecca Smoak, Teayana Dillon and Nikki Willett. In Juniors was Jessica Eberly. Congratulations to Grand and Reserve Champions, Marcella Lane, Angelique Sebree, Charlotte Mills, Kacie Lane, Brittney Mumford, Teayana Dillon and Jessica Eberly! Everyone rode hard, and did a great job! Showing in the open show was Irene Hildebrant, Marsha Wilson and Melinda Thomas. Irene took 3rd in Jack Benny and Western Pleasure, and a 4th in Trail on her gelding Falcon. Marsha showed halter with three of her horses, and got all blues! She had two call backs with two of her horses, nice job! Marsha rode English Equitation, English Pleasure, Jack Benny and Trail. She took two 3rds in English and a 6th in trail on her gelding Dan. Melinda rode her Palomino mare Countessa to two 1st place finishes in English Equitation and English Pleasure.
At the Pre-Fair competition before the main fair, three students did Power Point presentations in Public Speaking. Those competing were Jessica Ackerson, Teayana Dillon and Rebecca Smoak. All three girls did a Dynamite job and all got blues! Good job girls!
