WILDWIND FARM ENGLISH/WESTERN
SHOW SERIES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Class #1-3:  ENGLISH EQUITATION-Hunt or saddleseat tack and attire.  Judged on riders position and riding ability.
Class #4-6:  ENGLISH PLEASURE-Hunt or saddleseat tack.  Judges on horses manners, way of going, english gaits.
Class #7-8:  ADVANCED ENGLISH PLEASURE-Hunt or saddleseat tack.  Judge can ask any test of horse and rider.
Class #9:  COLOR ENGLISH PLEASURE OPEN-Open to all color breeds of horses.  Bay, blacks, greys, whites, chestnuts not a color horse.  Same criteria as class #4-6.
Class #10:  NON-COLOR ENGLISH PLEASURE OPEN-Open to all non-color breeds ineligible for Class #9.  Same criteria as class #4-6.
Class #11:  ROAD HACK OPEN-Same criteria as class #4-6 with exception of extended trot and hand gallop will be asked.
Class #12:  GREEN HORSE ENGLISH PLEASURE W/T-Same criteria as class #4-6.  Open to horses in 1st or 2nd year of showing.
Class #13:  DRESSAGE SUITABILITY OPEN-Same criteria as class #4-6.  Dressage movements will be asked, collected gaits, extended gaits, regular gaits.
Class #14-15:  BRIDLE PATH HACK-Same criteria as class #4-6.  Extended gaits can be asked.
Class #16:  HUNTER HACK OPEN-Same criteria as class #4-6 for the flat section of the class.  Class will also do two jumps not to exceed 2' in height.  Horse will be judged on way of going over the fences.  (3) refusals at jumps will result in elimination from class.
Class #17:  JUMPING IN HAND-Handler will lunge horse over a set of (4) jumps.  Horse will be judges on ground manners and way of going over the fences.
Class #18-19:  TRAIL CLASS ENGLISH/WESTERN-Horse and rider will be judged on ability to negotiate trail obstacles.  Rider may use english or western tack.  Competing in English tack will make the trail class eligible for the English high point.  Competing in Western tack will make the trail class eligilble for Western high point.  Exhibitor may enter the trail class twice in English tack, then Western tack making the trail classes eligible for both high points.  Only the highest score in trail will be used for the all around high point each show.
Class #20:  TRAIL IN HAND-Handler will lead horse through trail obstacles.  Judges on manners, and handlers ability to negotiate the obstacles on the ground.
Class #21:  LUNGE LINE OPEN-Open to all ages of horses.  Handler will have 90 seconds to show horse both ways on the lunge line.  Horse will be judged on way of going in all three gaits, manners, and conformation.
Class #22:  WATER & GLASS-Not judged.  Riders will ride with a glass of water, and be asked certain tests.  The (5) riders with the most water at the end of the class will receive ribbons.
Class #23:  HALTER CLASS STOCK TYPE-Open to stock type horses, Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas, etc.  Judged on conformation.
Class #24:  HALTER CLASS PLEASURE TYPE-Open to pleasure type horses, Arabians, Morgans, Saddlebreds, etc.  Judged on conformation.
Class #25:  HALTER CLASS ALL OTHER BREEDS-Open to non-stock or non-pleasure type horses.  Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Ponies, Drafts, etc.  Judged on conformation.
Class #26-27:  SHOWMANSHIP IN HAND-Equitation class judged on the handler showing the horse in hand.  Pattern will be posted prior to class.
Class #28-30:  BAREBACK EQUITATION-Equitation class judged on the riders position and ability to handle the horse riding bareback.  English or western tack can be used.
Class #31:  LEADLINE-Open to riders 9 & under (as of January 1st of the current year).  No cross entry into any other class.  Riders are to be led.  Judged on equitation.
Class #32-34:  STOCKSEAT EQUITATION-Western tack and attire to be used.  Judged on riders position and ability to control horse.
Class #35-37:  WESTERN PLEASURE-Western tack and attire to be used.  Judged on the horses way of going and ability to be a pleasure to ride.
Class #38-39:  ADVANCED WESTERN PLEASURE-Same criteria as class #35, but judge may ask any test of horse and rider.
Class #40:  COLOR WESTERN PLEASURE-Same criteria as class #35, but open to horses of color.  Palominos, paints, appys, buckskins, etc.
Class #41:  NON-COLOR WESTERN PLEASURE-Same criteria as class #35, but open to horses of non-color.  Bays, blacks, chestnuts, sorrels, grays, whites, etc.
Class #42:  WESTERN PLEASURE GREEN HORSE WALK/TROT-Same criteria as class #35, but only walk/trot (jog) to be asked.  Open to horses in their 1st or 2nd year of showing.
Class #43:  WESTERN PLEASURE STOCK TYPE OPEN-Same criteria as class #35, but open to stock type breeds, Quarter Horses, Paints, Appaloosas, etc.
Class #44:  WESTERN PLEASURE OTHER THAN STOCK TYPE-Same criteria as class #35, but open to non-stock type breeds, Arabians, Morgans, Saddlebreds, Thoroughbreds, Ponies, Drafts, etc.
Class #45-48:  WESTERN REINING-Western tack and attire to be used.  Reining patterns are available on the website, and will be posted at the arena the day of the show.
